I made this throw for my grandmother. It was suppose to be for Christmas and then I realized we arent promised tomorrow, that bing said I went ahead and gave it to her a few months early and she LOVES it. I say not bad for my first granny square throw and my first completed crochet project.
How I made my squares was by watching and following the directions step by step except after you finished the first round the video says to chain 4 and I only chained 3 not sure it makes much of a difference though. I made 100 squares in total of random colors using peaches ‘n’ cream cotton yarn and bordered each in white with a single stich. I did not join any of the squares together until I had all of them finished.
Then I layed out the pattern the way I liked it and started connecting the squares together using a single stitch. Using this video I connected the squares two at a time down a row of ten and then to the next row of ten. I connected each row often like I connected the two squares at a time. It seemed to be easier that way as I did try other methods first. Once I had all ten rows of ten connected together then I bordered the entire throw in white with a double crochet and the finish the edging I used a Scalloped Edge in a multi colored yarn. All of the yarn I used was cotten yarn by Peaches ‘n’ Cream and I used all multi colored yarn excepted the white. I used a size H Needle
Hopefully you understood the instructions and if you have any questions please let me know. Good luck and can’t wait to see all of yours.
